2011 Children's Christmas Program
History of Our Church

Crossroads Community Chapel is a member of the Teays Valley Association of the West Virginia Baptist Convention.  The church started January 2, 2000.  The previous five months were dedicated to the preparation of starting the church.

Founding pastor, Roger Adams, entered into an agreement with the West Virginia Baptist Convention, which stated the Convention would provide salary and financial support for the first five years.  That agreement was fulfilled when the church became financially independent in the third year of existence.

The church started with only a handful of people and little money.  Today, we have over 200 people involved, with the membership around 100 people.

Crossroads began meeting at the Tri-County YMCA in 2000 and later that year moved to Winfield Middle School.  In 2002, we moved to our current location - Winfield High School in Winfield, West Virginia.

We have had an incredible relationship with the school, having done many things to help the students and assist the administration.  Crossroads has been very active in our community  - handing out backpacks, school supplies and various other ministries.  We also have a Summer Impact Festival each year, that draws from 1500 - 2000 people.  This event is a large carnival type event, which is our gift to the community and shows our commitment to the Winfield area.

2012 finds us financially strong, with no debt, physically solid with a strong active membership, and spiritually aware of our mission.  The average age of the church is in the early 30's, with many young families and lots of children.  We are a vibrant, youthful community of believers with a great future.
